This page describes how the Career Story and Interview Proof Kit actually handles your information. It describes the behavior of this application only.
Career Story sends text extracted from your résumé and job description, along with information you confirm in the Kit, to Google's Gemini API to generate analysis and suggestions. Your original PDF or DOCX files are not sent to Google.
Career Story does not store the complete raw prompt or complete raw model response. We do store the structured suggestions needed to provide the Kit experience, including short source excerpts you can review, along with limited operational information such as model name, token counts, status, timestamps, and a one-way checksum of the extracted text.
Career Story uses Google Gemini API Paid Services. Google states that prompts and responses submitted through its Paid Services are not used to improve its products. Gemini API project logging, dataset sharing, and feedback sharing are not enabled for this project.
Google may retain prompts and responses for a limited period solely for abuse and security monitoring. This Career Story project has not been approved for Zero Data Retention, so we do not claim zero retention.
AI analysis is optional. You can complete the preparation without using the AI-assisted analysis step.
You can buy a Kit and start working immediately. Before a Kit can be sent for its included written review, we require you to confirm your email address by following a link we send to it, so that review correspondence reaches the right person. This requirement is enforced by the server, not only in the interface.
Your preparations are visible to you. Access is enforced at the database level, not only in the interface.
When you submit a preparation for review, the reviewer (the product owner) can see the submitted snapshot of that preparation in order to write your review. Other customers can never see your content.
If and when the product is purchased, card details are entered with our payment provider and are never received or stored by this application. We keep only the records needed to confirm that a purchase succeeded and what it entitles you to.
Content is stored in a managed cloud database and private file storage, transmitted over encrypted connections, and protected by per-account access rules. Uploaded files are kept in a private bucket that is not publicly listable or linkable.
No system can be described as absolutely secure, and we do not claim that. We aim to hold only what the product needs in order to work.
Your account, preparations and uploaded files are kept while your account exists, so that you can return to your work. Submitted snapshots and review records are kept as the record of a completed review.
Uploaded documents are not deleted automatically after analysis. You can remove an individual file from a preparation while that preparation is editable, and you can request full deletion at any time.
You can request deletion of your account and its associated data from the Account page in the product. For this pilot, deletion requests are actioned manually by the product owner and confirmed by email.
Deletion removes your profile, preparations, uploaded files, extracted excerpts, AI suggestion records and submitted snapshots. Records that a purchase took place may be retained by our payment provider, and in our own accounting records, where financial record-keeping obligations require it.
For any privacy question, or to make a request without using the in-product button, contact the product owner at the email address used for your purchase correspondence.
